We need to take the Proud Boy Rally seriously #Pushback

The “We the People Rally” rally, a Proud Boy-organized demonstration happening next month in Philly, is not something we can let just happen.

The Proud Boys aren’t just some conservative fraternity. This is a far-right gang. They’re violent. And unlike what many liberals claim, ignoring them doesn’t make them go away. They’re not fascists just for attention. They have a political vision that they’re passionate about, and it demands violence for the sake of the white ruling class. Though there has been a bit of division in the Far-Right post-Charlottesville, the militant far-right is growing and they’re becoming more violent.

We need to stamp out their passion, making them feel defeated and hopeless, and pray they’ll repent for their sins.

You can read both these articles to understand a bit about the Proud Boys and the groups associated with this upcoming rally:

This is Gritty City. We know better than letting these bootlickers have a platform. This isn’t a job for a couple of dozen antifascists. This is the job for all of Philadelphia. A popular/mass anti-fascist mobilization. We need to respond like Boston did a week after Charlottesville (UTR) when fascists tried to have their “free speech rally” but were overwhelmed by the thousands who showed up to counter-protest – and the rally ended early.

Listen to your inner-Gritty and get out in the streets. Ask your pastors and priests to come out with their collars. Bring your small groups, prayer groups, and affinity groups. Bring your co-workers, friends, parents, whoever. Philadelphia needs to take a stand against far-right violence and nationalist terrorism and to make every fascist, misogynist, racist, nazi, etc., feel bitterly unwelcome in our city.
